February is American Heart Awareness Month. African Americans are more likely to die from heart disease than other groups. Also, black females have a higher rate of heart disease than black men. Heart disease can lead to stroke, death, and heart failure.  Genetic factors are hard to change. Preventing heart disease can be as simple as changing your lifestyle. If you stop smoking, lower your blood pressure, and exercise, you can help prevent heart disease.
