May is High Blood Pressure Awareness Month. High blood pressure or hypertension is called the "silent kill" because sometimes there are no signs or symptoms of having high blood pressure. Having your blood pressure checked by a healthcare provider is the best way of monitoring your blood pressure. Some lifestyle choices can raise our blood pressure include:  Smoking Lack of physical exercise/activity Being overweight  Eating too much salt/ sodium in your diet  Diabetes  Drink too much alcoholPlease get your blood pressure checked regularly and take your blood pressure medication as directed by your provider.
